Interesting things happen when two masterminds collaborate in one design. Mastermind Deconstructivist Architect Zaha Hadid is getting used to collaborate more and more with the fashion world. What is it that architects can bring to the fashion table that can make fashion designers intimidated? Is it the aesthetics? The concept? Out of the box thinking? The truth is that when they do it we all say WOW! Mrs. Hadid is not the first one to work in the fashion arena (not as an architect). Frank Gehry has been a designer for the luxury house Tiffany and Co. for some time now and this is because they have his avant-garde ideas that bring a breath of fresh air to the industry.

Are the designs pure concept? Are they wearable?I guess that depends who you ask. They have character, lots of personality and for sure a target customer.

Have you ever felt that you had an unsuccessful mission but on the other hand accomplished much more on your journey?

well that happened to me some weeks ago. We had a competition for a handbag design that I did not win but ironically ended up being a very successful design. The inspiration was the serenity and elegance of the swan....and of course the repetitive patterns usually present in my designs.
